Done In a Day 2009-2010 This year brings about some exciting change for two of our previous community projects! Our side by side committee and Done in a Day are merging! The two will team up to complete 1 day community projects with JLP members and middle school girls. The JLP members will facilitate planning, marketing, and follow through of our variety of projects in the Pasadena community. This allows the JLP to develop the potential of women, improve our communities, and promote voluntarism among the JLP members and the side by side middle school girls. This committee will give all JLP members, their friends, family, and guests an opportunity to take an active part in these rewarding activities.
In the 2008-2009 year, Done in a Day worked with some neat organizations. Among them are Door of Hope, American Red Cross, Rebuild Together Pasadena, and the Senior Center to name a few. If you have questions please e-mail Catherine Welch at: welch.mi@gmail.com History of GIRLS ROCK! In 2004, the League embarked on a program to enrich and support middle school girls and their families in the San Gabriel Valley. This signature project of the JLP is entitled GIRLS ROCK!

The program stays within the scope of the League’s focus area, “Nurturing Children through Family Support” and focuses on three primary goals: to nurture high academic achievement and college preparedness; to develop life skills; and to support health, wellness and authentic relationships. Girls Rock! currently features BodyWise – Girls' Nutrition & Fitness Conference and Done in a Day. Previous projects include Be R.E.A.L. (Relationships… Extraordinary. Authentic. Loving), a series of healthy relationship seminars for middle school-aged girls and their parents/caregivers, and Side by Side , one-on-one mentoring between league members and middle school girls as they planned and executed community projects.
